The Richton Park Public Library has been a part of the IRS Library Program for many years, providing federal tax forms to the public.
This year we received notification from the IRS that stated, “As you may be aware, IRS appropriations were significantly cut in the 2015 Omnibus Appropriations bill recently passed by Congress. Unfortunately this puts us in a position where we have very few options. We want to honor our commitment to you by providing some key products, but we cannot deliver nearly what we have in the past.”
What does this mean for the public? This year the library will receive only federal forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ, not including the Instruction Booklets, with the 1040EZ form distributed as a percentage of the other two forms. Unfortunately we will not be receiving any of the “Schedule” forms.
Our library staff has always been happy to help the public with their tax forms and publication needs.
State tax forms and Instruction Booklets will be available at the library as usual, and should arrive in the next two weeks.
Your library staff regrets this inconvenience and, as always, will assist you any way we can.
You can print out official tax forms online from at home or at the library (if printing from the library, regular printing fees
apply of 15 cents per page)
