FLAVA
GET A TASTE OF OUR NEW FLAVA!
The Family of Local Authors, Visionaries & Artists (FLAVA) is a program designed to promote new aspiring local talented authors, artists, musicians and other creative expressionists by initially featuring them and their works at the Library. The goal is to make these materials available to the public through programming, circulation, presentations and displays, starting with the Library.
FLAVA PROGRAMS
Although FLAVA of the Month started as a monthly program, it has become a periodical event due to heavy programming and space constraints at the Library. Rather than feature one person a month, FLAVA will present major events showcasing an array of local talents atleast three times a year. Space, materials and weather permitting, major celebrations may include, but are not limited to: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January), Black History Month (February), Women's History Month (March), National Poetry Month (April), Summer Reading Club (June-July), and the Harvest Fest (October/November).
