Computers
Adult Public Computer Access
The Richton Park Public Library provides computer access to patrons for Internet searching and e-mail, as well as word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing programs. The Library has four walk-up computer stations for adult users. They are available for 15-minute intervals on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are also two computers that can be reserved for one-hour intervals, provided that the patron has a valid, fine free library card with any library within the Metropolitan Library System. Patrons may not register for an hour computer more than twice a day, and the registrations may not be for consecutive appointments.

Public Computer Access for Children and Young Adults (ages 5 to 17)
There are two filtered computers available to children and young adults for Internet searching and e-mail, research, homework help, and word processing. One computer is available for sign-up at 30-minute intervals on a first-come, first-serve basis; the other can be reserved for one-hour intervals if the patron has a valid, fine free library card with any library within the Metropolitan Library System. Children may only register for one computer session per day on school days, but may register for up to two sessions when school is not in session.

Inter Library Loan
Interlibrary loan is a service offered to our library patrons that allows them to order materials from any of the 78 Metropolitan Library System’s member libraries. A patron can order materials either though the SWAN online catalog or by requesting the item in person or by phone at the Richton Park Public Library. Renewals can also be done online for interlibrary loans if there are no outstanding holds on the item.
