Curbside Services

The library started offering curbside services in June to allow patrons to access library materials without having to enter the building or pick-up materials without making contact. As of August, the service is by request only and must be called-in in advance so we can prepare the items for you.

Requesting Curbside Services

If you have items ready for pick-up (and have received a notice that they are ready for pick-up) you can call the library during library hours to schedule a curbside pick-up.

What can I pick-up through Curbside Services?

You can arrange to pick-up items (books, movies, etc.), mobile prints, and programming kits (if available)

What do I do when I get to the library?

You can call us (708-481-5333 x4) from your car and we'll bring the items out to you!

If you don't have a cellphone, we have a doorbell located on the front door that you can ring to have someone come out to assist you with pick-up.

What if I miss my Curbside Pick-up Appointment?

Life happens, we understand - just call us to reschedule. Items will remain on hold for curbside pick-up up to a week before we return the items back to the collection.

Service Changes due to COVID-19

Fines Free Checkouts

The library will be fines free through the end of September. This means that no fines will be charged for overdue items during this time. Items will still be billed if they are over 2 weeks overdue.

Payment Options

The library is not handling cash at this time. Patrons can make payments by credit card through the online catalog or in-person at the circulation desk. There are limited self-service items that will take exact change (photo-copies & vending machine).

Material Quarantine

All items that are received by the library is required to go through a manditory 7-day quarantine. This affects both materials that are being returned, and materials arriving at the library from other libraries (Interlibrary Loan). This means that items will remain on your account up to 10 days after you return them to the library. If you have returned materials and they are still on your account after 10 days please call us so we can look into it. This also means that items that you have requested from other libraries will take an additional week to arrive at the library due to quarantining.

Thank you for your patience and support during the past couple of months!
